Ginni the lioness's cub is stillborn

Naturally, it's bad news. But it does show a sign of hope.

As we previously informed you, only one of our two Asiatic lionesses – Ginni – has an opportunity to have cubs. But even here we had to resort to artificial insemination.
Recently Ginni's behaviour and her slightly bulging belly started to give indications that she was pregnant.
The cub was born on Tuesday, 23 April, 2019 at 1:30 in the morning CET. Unfortunately stillborn. However, despite this, Ginni is exhibiting maternal behaviour. So at least we can see a glimpse of hope for the future.
