"The foal boom in Dolní Dobřejov is reaching its peak, just when we are preparing to reconstruct their enclosures and stables in the Zoo’s grounds in Troja, and when the “Troja” Przewalski’s are moving to Dobřejov,” said Miroslav Bobek, Prague Zoo’s director. "This will be the first stage of the transformation of the “Planes”, i.e. the area between the cable car’s upper station and the Obora refreshment stand, which will be dedicated exclusively to Asian fauna and, once completed, will offer, among other things, an exhibition of Indian rhinoceroses.”

The reconstruction of the area for the Przewalski’s horse in Troja will be preceded by an extension of the underground water reservoir for utility water. All the work will be carried out during the normal day-to-day running of the zoo and after completion, visitors to the enclosures for the Przevalský horses will be able to see a new exhibition presenting smaller Mongolian fauna, including the legendary Mongolian Death-worm or olgoi khorkhoi.

"Although visitors will not be able to see the Przewalski’s horses in the Zoo’s grounds in Troja for about two years, a certain substitute can be found at Prague’s Dívčí hrady, where four mares of the Przewalski’s horse roam in an almost 20-hectare enclosure,” added Miroslav Bobek.
