07 August 2014, GLAND, SWITZERLAND - The World Association of Zoos & Aquariums (WAZA) is extremely concerned about the tragic incident that occurred on 3 August 2014. After the shipment of 8 sitatunga antelopes from Prague to Johannesburg, the South African authorities decided to euthanise the animals because of a missing veterinary certificate. In order to fully understand the situation, WAZA is thoroughly investigating the issue together with Prague Zoo as well as Johannesburg Zoo.
