Memorandum with CZA

Miroslav Bobek  |  09. 01. 2015

Today at the seat of Czech Embassy in Delhi we signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between Indian Central Zoo Authority (CZA) and Prague Zoo. It creates a basis for the cooperation between our Zoo and Indian zoos.

The Memorandum of Cooperation between Indian Central Zoo Authority (CZA) and Prague Zoo has been signed by Mr. Miroslav Bobek, Prague Zoo Director, and Mr. Inder Dhamija, IFS, Member Secretary In-charge, CZA. The other participants were Mr. Miloslav Stašek, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India (on the left), Dr. Brij Kishor Gupta, Evaluation & Monitoring Officer, Central Zoo Authority (in the middle) and Mr. B. S. Bonal, IFS, Central Zoo Authority (on the right).

The first significant output of it should be the import of three Indian Lions from Sakkarbaug Zoo (last time these lions were provided for European Endangered Species Programme more than twenty years ago), however, the cooperation will be realized in a lot of areas and on many levels. We consider signing the Memorandum to be a great success, as only two other world zoos have signed a similar agreement, and we thank the Ambassador of Czech Republic to India, Mr. Miloslav Stašek for a significant contribution to this achievement.

Signature of another Memorandum will follow, this time in Gujarat with the Sakkarbaug Zoo.

Miroslav Bobek, Prague Zoo, Director
