Welcome to the Elephant Valley!

Over the following half-kilometre journey you will get to know our mixed herd of Asian elephants, get an insight into the life of elephants in the wild and discover their thousand-year-old relationship with humans. The expedition to Asia is just beginning!

B Elephants in Hinduism
Look into a Hindu sanctuary – an ashram – and familiarise yourself with the role elephants play in the stories of the most widespread Indian religion.
C Elephants in Buddhism
Stop at a Buddhist gompa and find out the immense significance elephants have for Buddhists. You can also turn the prayer wheels and send your own prayers to the whole world!
D Elephants and water
The view of the pool offers an interesting look at the elephants while bathing. The information panel presents the importance of water to elephants in more detail.
E The elephants’ diet
The elephants’ feeding area is conveniently situated across from the restaurant.
F Protection of elephants
Take a look at a rangers’ tent and find out what threats elephants face and how people contribute to their protection.
G Man and elephant
In a native village you enter a world where elephants are people’s allies. Don’t miss the elephant simulator from which you’ll find out what it feels like to ride on an elephant’s back!
