Spring Holiday in Zoo is Full of Excitement

Polar areas are endangered
Prague Zoo has prepared a quiz path that aims to get children and adults acquainted with the issue of endangered polar areas and animals that live north and south of Polar circles.  The event joins global campaign Pole to Pole, which was launched in 2013 by the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).

Treat nature with respect
“We try to explain rather complicated opinions on issues, such as climatic change and global warming, in an entertaining way. We believe that better knowledge of polar animals and their endangerment can inspire us to change our daily habits and treat nature more responsibly,“ Martin Smrček,  the Head of the department of Programme and Content, said.

Ticket are by the entrance
Ten questions placed around the enclosures with polar animals will reveal many interesting information about endangered Poles and local animals. “Game tickets will be available by each Zoo entrance and should be handed over by the special box next to the main entrance,” Martin Smrček added.

The holiday week culminated last Sunday by event called Pole to Pole, which provided children with some interesting information about the life of iconic  inhabitants of the Artic – polar bears.

Culmination on Sunday
Visitors could also enjoy the wonders of the special Polar Centre with entertainment games and the world of polar records, which showed fascinating abilities and skills of animals living in the Artic and the Antarctic areas as well as the options related to energy savings, waste recycling and other ways how to protect environment.
